Why Are These Activities Important?
Social and recreational activities:
• Encourage community involvement and inclusion
• Help develop communication and social skills
• Boost confidence and independence
• Improve emotional wellbeing
• Let you try new experiences and make new friends
Examples of Activities You Can Access:
• Going to the movies or visiting museums
• Playing sports like bowling or golf
• Visiting the library or joining a book club
• Participating in programs at a community centre
• Shopping trips or coffee catch-ups
• Joining hobby clubs – gardening, cooking, walking, fishing
• Attending social outings or group events
We’ll support you with transport, companionship, and assistance during the activity so you feel confident and included.
How to Access This Support
You can access these services if your NDIS plan includes Core Supports – Assistance with Social, Economic, and Community Participation. Your funding is flexible and can be tailored to meet your personal goals and preferences.
