Innovative Community Participation
Get Involved. Build Skills. Connect With Your Community
The purpose of Innovative Community Participation is to try and assist NDIS participants with being as active as they can in their local community through participatory programs that provide activities, training in skills, and other events that are inclusive and promotive of independence. Seven Angels Care and Support Services provides creative and practical programs and activities that regulate interpersonal connections, social opportunities, independence, and empowerment.
Some of the activities noted above can receive funding through your NDIS plan, whilst others such as community dinners and food relief, are free.
Why Is Innovative Community Participation Important?
Being engaged in communities builds confidence, and it builds feelings of well-being and belonging. It leverages new opportunities while developing skills for life that contribute to personal development in areas such as:
- Education
- Employment
- Health
- Social connections
When you engage, you not only leverage new opportunities but you contribute to building the wider community around you.
What Can It Help You Achieve?
Through innovative participation, you can:
- Learn new skills or build on your strengths
- Grow your social networks, meet new friends and networks
- Learn about other opportunities, services or supports
- Build confidence to live more independently
What Does It Look Like?

- Cooking Lessons – Have fun cooking, trying out new recipes, and having the skills for everyday cooking and food preparation (NDIS funded).
